ROUGE MEDIA SIGNS EXCLUSIVE MEDIA DEAL FOR UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO’S NEW STUDENT COMMONS

The latest rankings have placed The University of Toronto as the top school by reputation in Canada, and this is no small feat. With an annual enrollment of almost 90000, the university draws students from across the globe for world-class education. Along with the quality of education, it is also the cultural diversity, and focus on a healthy student life that has given the university its reputation for innovation.

Self-admittedly dedicated to fostering an academic community, an innovation-breeding space is imperative for this culture to grow. And this spring, the St. George campus is all set to launch its brand new Student Commons at 230 College Street. The new Student Commons will serve as a community space for these students to congregate, engage, build a community life and conduct student run activities. And Rouge Media, the North American location based media and marketing firm has signed an exclusive deal for advertising space within the new Commons.

“This partnership is a positive development for the Student Commons and for the UTSU as a whole. Rouge has worked with students in the past, and they’ve been more than accommodating of our unique needs. We couldn’t ask for a better partner in our new Student Centre.” said Mathias Memmel,  President of the University of Toronto Students’ Union.

The space will operate 24 hours a day throughout the week, with study and lounge space, expanded student services, free meeting and event space for student clubs, rehearsal spaces and the primary location for student funded service groups.

As part of their exclusive deal, Rouge Media will be installing and operating Large digital display screens, HD screen charging stations and large scale murals within the new Student Commons premises, in areas accessible to and visible by the students.

Marc-Andre Demers, Vice President, Network and Relationship Development at Rouge Media said, “The University has always brought and continues to bring more for its students to foster the community and learning spirit that it is well known for. This student-funded Commons is a landmark development for current and future students. We are extremely excited with this partnership and the exclusive opportunity to be present in the new Student Commons, and the chance to continue our long standing relationship with the University and the Student Union. We know the students will love the new space!”

Rouge Media is already present across the various University of Toronto campuses with murals, digital ad spaces and customized experiences and engagement opportunities for brands. The media company currently has mural and digital spaces across 150+ campuses nationwide in their Campus network in Canada alone and thousands of salon, barbershop and resto-bar venues across their Women’s, Men’s and Resto-bar networks.

The Student Commons and the media space will be ready in time for brands to advertise for Back to School 2018.
