Cast Members of Broadway’s Hit Musical Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations to Perform at October 15 Event at Sheraton New York Times Square

NEW YORK, September 30, 2019- DPAA, which previously announced that this year’s Video Everywhere Summit on October 15 was moving to Broadway at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, revealed today that Broadway also will be coming to the Summit. Cast members from the electrifying musical, Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations, will perform selections from the show in a private event for Summit attendees.

Ain’t Too Proud, playing at the Imperial Theatre, was nominated for 12 Tony Awards. The musical follows The Temptations’ extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With their signature dance moves and unmistakable harmonies, The Temptations rose to the top of the charts, creating an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching number one. The rest is history — how they met, the groundbreaking heights they hit, and how personal and political conflicts threatened to tear the group apart as the United States fell into civil unrest. This thrilling story of brotherhood, family, loyalty and betrayal is set to the beat of the group’s treasured hits, including “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” and so many more.

The Ain’t Too Proud performance at the Video Everywhere Summit was arranged by

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a nonprofit that helps men, women and children receive lifesaving medications, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS awards annual grants to more than 450 AIDS and family service organizations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. It also is the largest single financial supporter of the social service programs of The Actors Fund, helping everyone in entertainment and the performing arts.

“What better way to celebrate the Video Everywhere Summit’s move to Broadway than to incorporate one of Broadway’s most electrifying musicals into our day-long program? said Barry Frey, President & CEO, DPAA. “We are thrilled to welcome Ain’t Too Proud to our stage, and equally pleased to help raise awareness of the important work of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.”

Registration is open for the 2019 Video Everywhere Summit, whose move to a larger venue in Times Square was done to accommodate an anticipated record number of delegates and expanded list of exhibitors. The Summit, which is the industry’s largest one-day omnichannel event covering how brands are utilizing all media types to engage consumers, will once again be part of New York Digital Signage Week (Oct. 14-18).

Tickets for Ain’t Too Proud at the Imperial Theatre can be purchased at the box office or online.
