AMI and NHTSA Partner for Halloween

“Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving” campaign helps bar patrons get home safely

Philadelphia, PA, October 20th, 2016 – Halloween is meant to be scary, but not when it comes to driving. When it comes to drunk driving, Halloween can turn the roads into a horrorfest. In preparation for the 2016 Halloween season, AMI has partnered with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to help bar patrons get home safely.

Beginning October 27th and running through Halloween evening, AMI’s digital jukeboxes from coast to coast will help promote Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving. The interactive campaign will include a custom “Impaired Driving IQ Quiz” that gives bar patrons the chance to win free music for them and their friends, plus provides information from NHTSA’s SaferRide app which includes local cab numbers that users can easily send to their phones.

“Drinking and driving can turn a fun Halloween celebration into a living nightmare,” said NHTSA Administrator Dr. Mark Rosekind. “With the help of AMI Entertainment Network, we’re getting the word out to the public to plan a safe ride home and put the keys away. Call a sober friend, hail a taxi, or take public transportation home, but never drive drunk.”

The partnership is part of the NHTSA’s larger Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving campaign encouraging people to make responsible choices that will prevent them from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle after drinking.
